Liverpool opened EPL play with a disappointing draw with EPL newcomers Sheffield. The Reds’ equalizer came on a controversial penalty foul on Steven Gerrard which drew the ire of Sheffield’s manager. Neither injured player is expected to play in the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Maccabi Haifa.
