I just saw the Soccernet
story about Augustin Binya's sickening tackle on Celtic's Scott Brown yesterday in Champions League Group play. An absolutely terrifying tackle. It looks like Binya attempted to break Brown's leg. Luckily, Brown didn't suffer any serious damage. The video is below, but don't watch if you don't like those sort of things.
Update: Augustin Binya has been suspended for six European matches for the above tackle. He does have the right to appeal.
Wow! That's the first time I've ever seen a soccer player looking injured from a legitimate source...
ReplyDeleteSteady! It was a very poor tackle and one of those that looks pre-meditated to really injure the other player. I know sometimes there is the heat of the moment to blame but some players need to be careful. This is the sort of tackle that should be punished with a 10 game ban - at least, with the use of video evidence.
